This page summarizes the current Fit Check documentation highlights for merchants working with the latest theme version.

Version 1.1.0 — Product Media Gallery and Product Links

  • Portrait + Cover is the shipped/default gallery mode for new/default product galleries. The fixed portrait frame maximizes and centers within each column and the available section height, cropping each source inside the frame.
  • Auto + Cover remains the gap-free mode. Equal-width 1-, 2-, and 3-column desktop slots use the complete available Product details section height and crop each source within its slot.
  • Fixed Portrait, Square, and Landscape frames keep their selected shape and use Cover to crop or Fit to preserve the complete source.
  • A fixed ratio can intentionally leave space above and below the frame, especially with Square or Landscape and 2–3 desktop columns. Reduce it through Product details > Section height > Custom and adjust Custom height.
  • Auto + Fit preserves each uploaded image’s natural aspect ratio without cropping.
  • Mobile remains a one-column swipe carousel and respects the selected ratio and Cover/Fit behavior; Hint pagination can show part of the next slide without forcing a crop.
  • Image and video Product link blocks now include Product link action. Keep the default Open product page behavior or choose Open quick add for product-backed cards.
  • Custom URLs always open their assigned destination. Quick add uses the existing purchase modal for applicable options and purchase controls, supports keyboard close/focus return, and keeps a product-page link available if purchase options cannot load.
  • Version 1.1.0 is a backward-compatible minor update because it changes merchant-visible gallery behavior, changes the default for new/default gallery blocks, and adds the opt-in Product link action setting. Existing saved setting IDs, values, types, and options remain compatible; public CSS classes and the purchase flow are unchanged.

  • Updated the visible setup, settings, template, section, search, product, cart, recommendation, and header references for the current docs structure.
  • Added Guides, a task-based navigation hub that links to current reference pages without duplicating setup instructions.
  • Added focused Theme Settings pages, a grouped Sections overview, and a top-level Reference area for merchant data requirements.
  • Updated installation guidance to focus on draft-theme setup, Theme Store installation when available, and support-provided package upload when needed.
  • Added a Setup Checklist for first-time setup and launch review.
  • Added visual guidance to installation, theme editor basics, global settings, header, product template, search, product-link media, Explorer product links, Featured product, FAQ, Rich text, Showcase, Features carousel, and Collection list docs.
  • Added a consolidated Product Links guide for Grid, Carousel, Video, Explorer, and Image/Video product-link setup and visibility checks.
  • Added a dedicated Featured Product guide for the addable featured product section.
  • Added a screenshot-led Size guide setup guide showing the Size Chart metaobject fields, product custom.size_chart assignment, and Theme editor Size guide table controls.
  • Added a screenshot-led Color palette guide showing Theme settings > Color palette, palette-backed section colors, and direct one-off color overrides.
  • Added a screenshot-led Typography guide showing Theme settings > Typography, global text colors, font slots, H1-H6 presets, alternative heading presets, and local block Style menus.
  • Added a screenshot-led Variant Pickers and Swatches guide showing Shopify Admin variant data, global Variant pickers, global Swatches, collection product-card swatches, and the Product page Variant picker block.
  • Added a screenshot-led Product Card guide showing Product card background, Product media, Product details, Product title, Product price, and Product swatches controls.
  • Added a screenshot-led Shopify Search & Discovery guide showing how to configure filters, choose complementary and related products, and review Fit Check filter, Recommended products, and Complementary products sections.

  • Added Product details containers with real editor screenshots showing split overlay containers, centered purchase containers, and side purchase containers.
  • Added template reference coverage for Home page, Collections list, Pages, Checkout and customer accounts, and 404 Page.
  • Product Links now covers Carousel product links, Grid with product links, Video with product links, Explorer product links, and reusable Image/Video product-link blocks from one page.
  • Product-link documentation covers media blocks, linked products, layout, spacing, card styling, responsive behavior, and visibility checks.

Search and Discovery

  • The search icon can open the search drawer or send customers directly to the search page.
  • The /search page can use Search or Search grid mode.
  • The search drawer always keeps the chat-style predictive search experience.
  • Search grid mode supports the expected merchandising controls for filtering, sorting, card layout, and results display.

Product and Buying Flows

  • Product pages support full-screen or custom-height media sections.
  • Desktop product overlays have expanded layout and styling controls.
  • Variant pickers, swatches, selling plans, pickup availability, and product media stay synchronized as customers change options.
  • Quick add supports variant selection in the modal and inline product-card quick-add controls where enabled.
  • Product block references now explain the setup and QA checks for the core product form blocks.
  • Product card documentation now has a dedicated setup guide for background, media, details, title, price, swatches, and mobile review.

Cart and Checkout

  • Merchants can choose cart page or cart drawer behavior from global cart settings.
  • Cart drawer settings cover the core layout, content, discount, installment, and add-to-cart behavior.
  • Discount-code entry and removal are supported in cart surfaces when enabled.

Announcements and Header

  • Announcement bars support manual navigation or autoplay.
  • Header, search, cart, menu, localization, and account surfaces share the global drawer and backdrop styling controls.
  • Island announcements can follow the header or disappear on scroll and can include a dismiss button.

Recommendations

  • Product recommendations and complementary products use Shopify’s recommendation APIs.
  • Recommendation carousels inherit the same product-card block system used elsewhere in the theme, including optional quick add and swatches.
  • Use the Shopify Search & Discovery guide to set up Shopify filter and recommendation data before troubleshooting section styling.

Support

  • The support form sends a confirmation email after a request is received. Use the Contact page for support requests.
